CONCEPT
Located in downtown Kathmandu, Boutique Apartment is a mixed-use development, hospitality, residential building.
This building serves as a contemporary landmark that visually and physically responds to the surrounding urban context.
MOOD BOARD
The site already being located in one of the most prominent commercial zones of Kathmandu, the design had to justify the current exorbitant land price. Thus the project was designed around the idea of the maximum built-up area governed by the local authority and site conditions.
The building’s footprint was a derivative of the minimum allowable setback from the site.
The ground floor is an open public space that consisted of a cafe in a cosmopolitan environment, encouraging gatherings and social meetups. Alongside this, there’s a minimally designed yoga space, to reconnect with our bodies’ wisdom.
Rest of the upper floors are fully furnished luxury apartments with varying sizes to accommodate different needs. All of them are strategically placed to have an interplay of clean and modern aesthetics with a panoramic view of the desired surrounding.
