SITE
Nyanyi is a peaceful coastal village in southwest Bali, known for its serene black-sand beaches, lush rice fields, and laid-back local charm.
Just a short drive from bustling Canggu, it offers a quieter alternative with growing interest in boutique resorts and private villas, making it ideal for those seeking natural beauty and a slower pace of life.
CONCEPT
A quiet, tropical home where natural light, soft materials, and open spaces bring balance between indoor living and the landscape.
The master plan for the 857 sqm site is carefully designed to make the most of the space and the natural surroundings.
The plot is divided into two areas, each with a replicated villa design. This setup ensures the space is used efficiently while maintaining a strong connection to the landscape.
Both villas are positioned to face the secured view, allowing for beautiful, uninterrupted vistas. The layout focuses on privacy and practicality, giving each villa its own sense of space while keeping a consistent and appealing look that blends well with the surroundings.
Nyanyi Residence is a three-bedroom home thoughtfully designed for long-term living. At its heart is an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space that seamlessly flows into the garden, creating a strong sense of connection between the indoors and outdoors.
The roof over the main living areas is lifted to invite in more natural light, giving the interiors a bright, airy feel throughout the day. This simple design move enhances comfort while emphasizing openness and spaciousness.
The layout of the home is carefully oriented to capture a protected view. Key spaces—including the living room, kitchen, dining area, and master bedroom—are all positioned to open out toward this vista, strengthening the relationship between the home and its surrounding landscape.
Natural materials and soft, earthy colors are used throughout to create a calm and grounded atmosphere. These choices lend warmth and texture while allowing the home to age gracefully within its tropical environment.
Overall, the design seeks a quiet balance between building and nature—offering a simple, enduring place to live, unwind, and connect with the rhythms of the landscape.

Transforming traditional office spaces into ‘open’, transparency-enhancing architectures with fewer walls, doors and other spatial boundaries.

A gateway which conveys a sense of duality.
